VfL Bochum is a German football club based in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia. Founded in 1848, they are one of the oldest clubs in German football history. The team currently competes in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of the German football league system.
The club's greatest success was in the early 1980s, when they won the German championship in 1983 and were runners-up in 1984. They also won the German Cup in 1985. In 1985, they also made it to the UEFA Cup final, where they lost to Real Madrid.

VfL Wolfsburg FC is a professional football club based in Wolfsburg, Germany. The club was founded in 1945, and currently plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of German football. VfL Wolfsburg has won the Bundesliga title once, in 2009, and the DFB-Pokal once, in 2015. The team has also reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League twice, in 2014 and 2015.
