Real Sociedad Football Club is a professional football club based in San Sebastián, Basque Country, Spain. The club was founded in 1909 and currently competes in La Liga, the top division of Spanish football. They have won the La Liga title twice, in 1981 and 1982, and the Copa del Rey twice, in 1909 and 1987. The club also has a long-standing rivalry with Athletic Bilbao, with whom they contest the Basque derby.
