Lech Poznań Football Club is a Polish professional football club based in Poznań, Poland, that competes in the Ekstraklasa, the top tier of Polish football. Founded in 1922, Lech Poznań are one of the most successful Polish clubs in history, winning the Ekstraklasa a record 13 times, the Polish Cup a record 17 times, and the Polish SuperCup a record 9 times. They are also the only Polish club to have won a European trophy, having won the UEFA Cup in 1983.
Udinese Football Club, commonly referred to as Udinese, is an Italian football club based in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, that currently plays in Serie A, the top flight of Italian football. Founded in 1896, Udinese is the second oldest club in Italy, and is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won the Serie A title in 2005–06, and finishing as runner-up in the following season. Udinese has also won the Coppa Italia twice, in 1985–86 and in 1990–91, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana in the same year. The club has also competed in European competitions, and has achieved moderate success in the UEFA Cup, reaching the quarter-finals in the 2003–04 season.
