Cardiff City FC is a professional football club based in Cardiff, Wales. The club competes in the English Football League Championship, the second tier of English football, and has played its home matches at Cardiff City Stadium since 2009. The club was founded in 1899 as Riverside A.F.C., and adopted its current name in 1908. It is one of only two Welsh clubs to have played in the Premier League, joining Swansea City in 2011–12, and the only Welsh club to have reached the final of a major European competition, the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1968. Swansea City Football Club is a professional football club based in Swansea, Wales, that plays in the English Football League Championship, the second tier of English football. The club was founded in 1912 and play their home matches at the Liberty Stadium. They have won the Football League Cup twice, in 2013 and 2017, and the Football League Trophy twice, in 1994 and 2006.
