Borussia Dortmund Football Club, commonly known as Dortmund, is a professional football club based in Dortmund, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. It is best known for its men's professional football team, which plays in the Bundesliga, the top tier of the German football league system. Dortmund has won eight German championships, four DFB-Pokals, one UEFA Champions League, one Intercontinental Cup, and one UEFA Cup Winners' Cup. The club has a long-standing rivalry with the city of Schalke 04. Udinese Football Club, commonly referred to as Udinese, is an Italian football club based in Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, that currently plays in Serie A, the top flight of Italian football. Founded in 1896, Udinese is the second oldest club in Italy, and is one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won the Serie A title in 2005–06, and finishing as runner-up in the following season. Udinese has also won the Coppa Italia twice, in 1985–86 and in 1990–91, as well as the Supercoppa Italiana in the same year. The club has also competed in European competitions, and has achieved moderate success in the UEFA Cup, reaching the quarter-finals in the 2003–04 season.
