Bundesliga, the second tier of the German football league system. The club's greatest success was in the early 1980s, when they won the German championship in 1983 and were runners-up in 1984. They also won the German Cup in 1985. In 1985, they also made it to the UEFA Cup final, where they lost to Real Madrid.
