The Pacers compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the Eastern Conference Central Division. The team was first established in 1967 as a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA). They joined the NBA in 1976 after the ABA–NBA merger. The Pacers have won three championships, all in the ABA. The Pacers have had a rich history, featuring Hall of Fame players such as Reggie Miller, Chris Mullin, Mel Daniels, Roger Brown, and George McGinnis. The team is currently owned by Herb Simon. The current head coach is Nate Bjorkgren, and the president of basketball operations is Kevin Pritchard. The Pacers play their home games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, located in downtown Indianapolis.
