It was the first team from Rio de Janeiro to be crowned national champions, becoming the first club in the country to win the Série A in 1978. Pachuca FC is a Mexican professional football club based in Pachuca, Hidalgo. The club was founded by Cornish miners in 1901, and is one of the oldest teams in Mexico. They compete in Liga MX, the top tier of Mexican football, and are one of the most successful clubs in the country, having won seven league championships and four Copa MX titles. Pachuca are known for their youth academy, which has produced some of the best players in the country, such as Hugo Sanchez, Jorge Campos, and Jaime Lozano. The team plays its home matches at Estadio Hidalgo, which has a capacity of 33,265.
